What we collect
If you read articles on this site, we record the page you visited, the country your IP geolocates to (used to surface state-relevant crisis lines), and a sampled measurement of how fast the page loaded. We do not record your IP address itself, your name, or any other identifying information.
If you take the screening quiz, your answers stay in your browser. We do not transmit them to a server.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we record the email address you enter. We use it only to send the newsletter, and you can unsubscribe in one click.
If you email us, we keep the email and our reply for as long as is necessary to handle your enquiry, plus a reasonable archival period.
What we don’t do
- We do not sell or share personal data with third parties.
- We do not run advertising and we do not allow third-party ad networks to track our visitors.
- We do not use cookies for behavioural targeting.
- We do not share newsletter subscriber lists with anyone.
Cookies
We use a single first-party cookie to remember if you have already dismissed the welcome message, if any. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.
Analytics
Our analytics are operated by Vercel, which provides aggregate page-view counts without using cookies and without recording IP addresses. We use this to understand which articles are most useful — never to identify individuals.
Crisis support
If you contact us in crisis, we may share your message with a member of our editorial team for the purpose of responding. We are not a crisis service. If you are in danger right now, please call Lifeline 13 11 14 or 000.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act, you can request access to or correction of any personal information we hold about you. Email privacy@audhd.org.au.
